Reviewed 17 October 2026. Canonical page: https://uxpro.ca/locations/kitchener-waterloo

The studio is here. Waterloo Region businesses, practices and founders get in-person meetings when a room helps, and a team on the same clock as their deadline.

Where we work here, and how:

- Kitchener: Home base. In-person meetings, and Orient Barber Shop is here.
- [Waterloo](https://uxpro.ca/locations/waterloo): In person. Product teams, founders and professional firms.
- [Cambridge](https://uxpro.ca/locations/cambridge): In person. Trades, clinics and local services.
- [Guelph](https://uxpro.ca/locations/guelph): In person, by arrangement.
- Elmira, New Hamburg and Baden: On a call, and in person when the project warrants the drive.

How we meet:

- **In person:** The kick-off, the main review and the launch walkthrough, in Kitchener, Waterloo or Cambridge, and in Guelph by arrangement.
- **Remote:** Everything in between, on written notes and a staging link or prototype.
- **Built here:** [Orient Barber Shop](https://uxpro.ca/work/orient-barber-shop), Kitchener
- **Built here:** [Tokas Lex Law Office](https://uxpro.ca/work/tokas-lex-law-office), Waterloo office

## Five kinds of work, all run from the Kitchener studio.

What each one looks like for a Waterloo Region practice, shop or founder.

- [Website design and build](https://uxpro.ca/services/website-design-build): Sites for practices, shops and firms across the region, with the Google profile set to say what the pages say.
- [UX and UI product design](https://uxpro.ca/services/ux-ui-design): Flows, prototypes and a component set for the region's software teams, built so developers can work from them.
- [Branding and identity](https://uxpro.ca/services/branding): A mark and a short guide that hold on a storefront, a van door, a slide and a favicon.
- [Pitch deck design](https://uxpro.ca/services/pitch-deck-design): Investor and grant decks for founders who need the story to read without them in the room.
- [Local SEO and Google Business Profile](https://uxpro.ca/services/local-seo-google-business-profile): The map pack, the profile and the pages behind it, for searches typed from Kitchener to Elmira.

## Working with a studio that is down the road.

Home base: the studio is in Kitchener

Name, place and number:

- **Studio:** UXPro Design Studio
- **Based in:** Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
- **Email:** hello@uxpro.ca
- **Hours:** Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 Eastern
- **Area served:** Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph

No street address is published: the studio has none that matches a verified listing, and a local page should not invent one.

### Most local searches here are settled on the map

Someone looking for a barber near King and Victoria or a paralegal in Waterloo sees three map results before any website. So the Google Business Profile is part of the build, and the site is written to back up what the listing claims.

- Categories, services and prices filled in properly
- Hours that match the site, holidays included
- Reviews asked for at the moment a job goes well
- A page for each town you genuinely serve

### A room for the decisions, a link for everything else

We meet in person in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, and in Guelph by arrangement. That is usually three meetings: kick-off, the main design review and the launch walkthrough. In between, you get a staging link or a clickable prototype and written notes, which is quicker for both sides than another drive.

### One region, two markets

Waterloo Region has a dense professional-services market and a software sector beside it. A clinic in Kitchener competes on the map with the clinic down the street; a product team in Waterloo competes for users and investors who never visit. We do both kinds of work, and we keep them apart: local search for the first, product and deck design for the second.

## What we measured in Kitchener-Waterloo

Nothing local yet, and we would rather say so than borrow a number. Our Ontario Practice Website Index measured 187 law, clinic and accounting homepages listed in chamber directories in London, Ottawa, Barrie, Hamilton, Mississauga, Markham, Richmond Hill and Milton. Kitchener and Waterloo are not in it: the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber serves its member directory through a widget its robots.txt closes to crawlers, and we did not swap in another source. The figures below are Ontario-wide.

- Kitchener and Waterloo sites in the index: None. No Kitchener or Waterloo site is in the 2026-10b edition.
- Median simulated mobile LCP, Ontario-wide: 7.4 s, across the 183 homepages Lighthouse could measure.
- Slower than Google's 2.5 s line: 170 of 183 homepages (93%).
- Phone number tappable on the homepage: 73% of 187 sites.

*One Lighthouse run per site on a simulated mid-range phone, from a convenience sample: a baseline, not a ranking. A Waterloo Region edition would need its own sampling frame, and we have not drawn one.*

## Work we built in this region.

Built here: a Kitchener shop where the site, the map listing and the booking flow were made to agree, plus a law firm with an office in Waterloo. Beside them, a Kitchener trades concept, labelled as one.

- **[Orient Barber Shop](https://uxpro.ca/work/orient-barber-shop)** (Barber shop · full site · Client-reported): Booking moved above the fold, confirmations and reminders wired to the phone in the visitor's hand, and the Google Business Profile rebuilt to say what the site says. Their figures, their comparison; we did not audit them.
- **[Grantham Electric](https://uxpro.ca/work/grantham-electric)** (Trades · concept site · Concept): A photo-quote intake from the driveway, and a van code that opens the street's job log, so a service area is a record rather than a list of towns. Grantham Electric — the van door that promises a range, and the yard sign after the job · studio concept

The Orient figures are the shop's own, reported to us; we did not audit them. Tokas Lex launched in 2026 and has not shared numbers. Grantham Electric is a studio concept: no client, nothing shipped, no results.

## Kitchener-Waterloo questions: meetings, cost and who does the work.

### Have you measured Kitchener-Waterloo websites?

Not yet. Our Ontario Practice Website Index (187 practice homepages) drew its sample from chamber and board-of-trade directories in London, Ottawa, Barrie, Hamilton, Mississauga, Markham, Richmond Hill and Milton. The Kitchener Waterloo chamber's directory is closed to crawlers by its robots.txt, so the index has no Kitchener or Waterloo rows. We would rather publish nothing local than stretch a provincial figure to fit a city; the Ontario-wide numbers are above, and the method is in the index.

### Can we meet in person?

Yes. We meet in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, and in Guelph by arrangement. Most projects need three meetings: the kick-off, the main design review and the launch walkthrough. Everything in between runs on written notes and a staging link or prototype, which you can open whenever suits you.

### What does a website cost in Kitchener-Waterloo?

Our published tiers are Standard From $1,500 CAD + HST (typically two to three weeks), Growth From $3,500 CAD + HST (typically four to six weeks) and Premium From $7,500 CAD + HST (typically eight to twelve weeks). Care plans after launch are $250, $650 and $1,200 a month. Prices are the same wherever the client is, and every project is one fixed quote agreed before work starts.

### Do you only build websites?

No. Websites are one of five things we do. We also design products and mobile apps, make brand identities, design pitch decks, and run search and AI-visibility work. Plenty of local clients start with one and add another later, such as a brand refresh before a new site.

### How long does a project take?

Website builds by tier: Standard, typically two to three weeks; Growth, typically four to six weeks; Premium, typically eight to twelve weeks. The quote names the date. Brand work is agreed in the written quote. Product and deck work is scoped first, then dated in the quote.

### What kinds of businesses do you work with here?

Law firms, clinics, accountants, trades, child care, salons and barbershops, and startups. Each sector has its own page with what we build for it and the rules it has to follow.

### Does our website need to meet AODA?

If your organisation has 50 or more employees in Ontario, the Integrated Accessibility Standards require your public website to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Smaller organisations are not bound by that section, but the same standard makes a site easier for everyone to use. We offer a separate AODA review if you need one.

### Who will we actually work with?

The UXPro team, with our founder as the accountable lead on every project. You get one person who answers for the work, and the design, build and writing are done by the team.

### Do you work with businesses outside Waterloo Region?

Yes. We work across Ontario, remotely across Canada, and take on remote work for US companies. Kitchener-Waterloo is where the studio sits and where in-person meetings are easy; the work itself is the same everywhere.
