# Search and AI visibility: SEO, AEO and GEO

Reviewed 17 October 2026. Canonical page: https://uxpro.ca/services/seo-aeo-geo

We make your business easy to find in search results, easy to quote in answers, and described the same way everywhere, then show you each month what the assistants actually said.

**From $650 CAD, plus HST.** Monthly programme $950 or $1,800 CAD a month, plus HST.

## At a glance

- **Who it is for:** Kitchener-Waterloo and Ontario small businesses, clinics, law firms and startups whose buyers search, or ask an assistant, before they call.
- **What you get:** A technical pass, schema and entity data, llms.txt and Markdown copies, answer-first guides, Google Business Profile and a monthly question log.
- **First results:** We will not put a date on it

## Three names for one job: being found, and being quoted.

The labels are new; the base is not. Each one asks the same thing of a page, with a different place the answer shows up.

### SEO: Search engine optimisation

Making your pages rank in ordinary search results on Google and Bing, for the questions your buyers type.

What we do for it:

- Technical SEO: titles, headings, redirects, sitemap, internal links
- Google Business Profile, matched to your site
- Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, connected and read

### AEO: Answer engine optimisation

Shaping a page so search features and assistants can lift a direct answer from it: the featured answer, the snippet, the spoken reply.

What we do for it:

- Answer-first guides: the answer in the first paragraph
- Key-facts tables and real FAQs
- Structured data generated from the same content

### GEO: Generative engine optimisation

Making your pages a source that generative engines cite: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.

What we do for it:

- One entity graph: the same name and facts everywhere
- llms.txt and Markdown copies of key pages
- A monthly panel of buyer questions, logged with the sources cited

## Where this work runs today.

This site runs the same programme we sell, labelled as our own. One client build shipped with the groundwork; it has not shared search numbers, so none are shown.

- **The files we serve assistants** (Our own site: the studio's own programme): uxpro.ca's llms.txt and the Markdown copy of each guide: who we are, what we do, what we charge and what we do not do. [Open llms.txt](https://uxpro.ca/llms.txt)
- **Our monthly question panel** (Our own site: our method, not a result): A fixed set of buyer questions, put to the major assistants for uxpro.ca itself and logged with the sources they cited, including the runs where we were not mentioned. [See the panel](https://uxpro.ca/services/ai-search-geo#up-close)
- **Tokas Lex Law Office** (Client project, Law): Practice pages with a direct answer up top, structured data, an llms.txt file and thirteen guides. The firm has not shared search or citation numbers, so none are claimed. [Case study](https://uxpro.ca/work/tokas-lex-law-office)
- **The UXPro Journal** (Our own site): Answer-first guides with sources listed and a review date on every one, written under the rules we use for clients. [Read the Journal](https://uxpro.ca/blog)

Every project is labelled before you see it: client, client work anonymised, studio concept or practice.

## What the programme covers, across all three.

Technical SEO, structured data, answer-first guides, a Google Business Profile that agrees with your site, and a monthly log of what the assistants say. One programme, priced in the open.

1. Technical SEO: Titles, headings, canonicals, redirects, sitemap and internal links, so crawlers read every page you want found.
2. Schema and one entity: Structured data for your organisation, services and FAQs, all pointing at one name, one address and one set of facts.
3. llms.txt and Markdown copies: A plain-text summary and clean copies of key pages. Cheap to ship; we do not claim they move citations on their own.
4. Answer-first guides: Articles that answer your buyers' question in the first paragraph, with sources and a review date.
5. Google Business Profile: Categories, services, hours and photos corrected, and kept matching your site.
6. A monthly question panel: The same buyer questions, asked in the major assistants and logged with the sources cited. Our method, not a promised result.

You probably need this if:

- You ask an assistant about your business and it gets you wrong. Old hours, a service you dropped, or a competitor's name in your place.
- Your site ranks for your name and nothing else. People who do not know you yet never find the pages that answer them.
- Your listings, site and profiles disagree. Search engines and assistants trust the facts that match across the web.

## Readable, answerable, consistent, measured.

Readable first, then answers, then consistency, then a log. Each package below is one or more of these steps.

1. **Ask the assistants.** *Before the quote.* We put your buyers' questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI features, and read what crawlers can see on your site. You receive: The AI visibility check: answers, sources and fixes in priority order.
2. **Fix the base.** *First.* Technical SEO, schema for one entity, llms.txt and Markdown copies, and a Google Business Profile that agrees with your site. You approve: The setup changes, listed before they ship.
3. **Answer what buyers ask.** *Every month.* Answer-first guides from outlines you approve, existing pages improved, listings kept consistent. You approve: Everything that publishes, before it goes live.
4. **Log what they say.** *Every month.* The same questions asked again, with the sources each assistant cited, beside Search Console and Bing data. You receive: The log and a plain report, wins and losses.

## Four packages, four published prices.

Four packages: a one-off check, a one-off setup, and a monthly programme at two sizes. Each is one published figure in Canadian dollars, plus HST.

### AI visibility check

**$650 CAD per site, plus HST.** Anyone who wants to know what search engines and AI assistants say about them today, before paying for more.

Included:

- Your buyers' questions put to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with each answer and its cited sources recorded
- A read of what crawlers can see: robots rules, sitemap, titles, structured data
- Your name, services and areas compared across your site and main listings
- Written findings, with the fixes in priority order

Not included:

- Making the fixes
- Repeat runs after the first one
- Writing new pages

Timeline: Agreed in the written quote

### Search and AI visibility setup

**$2,500 CAD per site, plus HST.** A site that works but that search engines and assistants read badly: thin titles, no structured data, facts that disagree.

Included:

- A technical SEO pass: titles, headings, canonicals, redirects, sitemap and internal links
- Structured data for your organisation, services and FAQs, all pointing at one entity
- An llms.txt file and Markdown copies of your key pages
- Google Business Profile clean-up, and Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools connected
- A baseline run of the question panel, so later months have something to compare against

Not included:

- A redesign or rebuild
- Monthly writing
- Ads, and bought links

Timeline: Agreed in the written quote

### Programme, Standard

**$950 CAD a month, plus HST.** Small businesses and practices that want one steady monthly rhythm after the setup.

Included:

- One answer-first guide a month, from an outline you approve
- Monthly technical checks, with anything broken fixed
- Google Business Profile upkeep: posts, photos and questions
- The question panel, run and logged every month, losses included
- A plain-language report every quarter

Not included:

- A guaranteed ranking or citation
- Ads and ad management
- New site sections

First results: We will not put a date on it

### Programme, Growth

**$1,800 CAD a month, plus HST.** Firms in a competitive field, or with several services or offices, that need more pages and more answers.

Included:

- Everything in Standard
- Two answer-first guides a month
- Existing service and location pages improved each month
- Directory and listing consistency, checked and corrected
- A monthly report, with a call

Not included:

- A guaranteed ranking or citation
- Ads and ad management
- A rebuild of the site

First results: We will not put a date on it

| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Covers | SEO, AEO and GEO: technical, schema, content, Google Business Profile, measurement |
| First results | We will not put a date on it |
| Who it suits | Ontario small businesses, clinics, law firms and startups |
| Not included | Ads, bought links, and any guaranteed ranking or citation |
| What moves the quote | How many pages and services the site has. How many places you serve, and whether each needs its own page. Whether we built the site, or have to read it first. How many guides a month the field needs. |
| Quoted separately, or not ours | Ad spend and ad management. Bought links, review schemes or anything that breaks search engine rules. A redesign or rebuild, which is quoted as a website project. Any guaranteed ranking, map position or AI citation. |
| Terms | Canadian dollars, plus HST. One project, one fixed quote, agreed before any work starts. |

## Where we are not the right fit

- You want a guaranteed ranking, map position or AI citation. Nobody controls those, and we will not pretend to.
- You need enquiries this month. Search builds over months; fixing the pages people already land on, or ads (which we do not run), move faster.
- You want bought links or review schemes. They break search engine rules and we do not do them.

## Search and AI questions, answered straight.

### What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?

SEO is about ranking in ordinary search results. AEO, answer engine optimisation, is about being the direct answer a search feature or assistant shows. GEO, generative engine optimisation, is about being one of the sources an AI answer from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude or Google's AI Overviews cites. All three rest on the same base: pages a crawler can read, that answer a real question clearly, with facts that match across the web.

### Do I need AEO or GEO if I already do SEO?

Mostly they are the same work done more carefully. Good SEO already gets you most of the way, because assistants draw on pages search engines can read. What AEO and GEO add is the shape of the page (a direct answer first, sources named, facts in a table) and checking what the assistants actually say about you.

### Can you guarantee we rank first or get cited?

No. Nobody can, and anyone who promises it is guessing or breaking the rules. Search engines and assistants decide what to show and quote, and they change their minds. What we can guarantee is the work: the fixes ship, the guides publish, the structured data validates, and the monthly log shows what the assistants said, including the questions where you were not mentioned.

### How long until we see results?

We will not put a date on it. Search and AI visibility build over months, and how long depends on your field, your competitors and where the site starts. We report what moved every month or quarter, and say plainly when something has not.

### How much does search and AI visibility cost?

AI visibility check: $650 CAD per site, plus HST. Search and AI visibility setup: $2,500 CAD per site, plus HST. Programme, Standard: $950 CAD a month, plus HST. Programme, Growth: $1,800 CAD a month, plus HST. The check and the setup are one-off fees; the programme is monthly.

### Do I need an llms.txt file?

Not to be cited. Google says its AI features need no special text files, and Ahrefs' May 2026 log study of 137,210 domains (ahrefs.com/blog/llmstxt-study) found 97% of llms.txt files got no requests. We ship one because it costs little and gives assistants a clean summary, but we do not sell it as the thing that does the job.

### How do you measure AI visibility?

Four ways: Google Search Console (AI features are counted with ordinary web results), Bing Webmaster Tools AI Performance (which pages are cited), referral visits from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and Copilot, and our own monthly panel of buyer questions, run from a clean session and logged with the sources each assistant cited. No tool shows where you appear in every AI answer, and we say so.

### What should I ask any agency selling AI search optimisation?

Ask what exactly they change on your site, how they measure it, whether they will show you the questions where you lost, and what happens if nothing moves. Be wary of guaranteed citations, secret files or markup, bought links and long contracts with no report. Those are the answers we would want from us too.
